..and when the sun rises again tomorrow, we'll see how far we've come ...

... just to remind myself why I'm doing this ...

Depending on our personalities, the world can be a crowded place or a very lonely one. For those who seek comfort in numbers, there is no shortage of hangers on, but for those who avoid that circus, keeping thier own counsel can leave them feeling quite alone and disengaged from the mad place we call home. Life is a trade off and most of us choose how we live it.

For me, I'd rather work things out as best I can, using my own thoughts and feelings to sort things out. Following the crowd has never been a temptation to me, but that has its price, one that I'm totally comfortable with every day I get to stand up and be the person I aspire to be. When I sometimes lose track of who that is, I come here to remember, to reconnect and to resume my quest.

These posts are a reflection of some of what matters to me and it's a privilege to have the opportunity to collect these thoughts as they form in my head, as they prepare the way for my life, as it evolves from one day to the next. They re-inspire me when things seem to be floating about, with no particular aim or purpose, and it does happen from time to time.

I hate to say it ...not really.. I will say it ..

...told ya so!

The latest to hit the fan is the announcement of utterly obscene bonuses being showered over the very crooks that orchestrated the "now-almost-history (contrived) recession". In the US the big boss wants to hit these monsters with some sort of "fees" to get some of that taxpayers' money back (probably to help pay for some of the interest on all that borrowed - borrowed from whom - cash). Of course, any such fees come right out of operating profits instead of working capital, and lets the crooks keep using taxpayer money to earn the profit that pays for the fees, and that comes from, you guessed it, the consumer. How sweet is that?

Just remember who's holding all the aces, and who's going to take the jackpot, whenever they're good and ready.

Just as an afterthought, we're getting a bit of interesting info about the pseudo-recession. The entertainment industry and the booze business both had a bumper year during the recent 'hard times' - an indication of just how we were affected by the "recession".

Watch for the criminal hijinks in the financial sector to get even more spectacular as the corruption picks up a full head of steam this year and outdoes itself in even more inventive ways that will guarantee an even more spectacular meltdown in the markets, and far sooner than we would expect, given historical trends. It will likely come on the tail of a fire-breathing dragon from the far east. Any guesses?
